MODEL | Length (mm) | Width (mm) | Height (mm) |
RENAULT Grand Espace III | 4787 | 1820 | 1690 |
TOYOTA Estima Aeras 2002-07 | 4975 | 1800 | 1730 |
TOYOTA Alphard | 4840 | 1805 | 1935 |
HYUNDAI Starex | 5125 | 1920 | 1935 |
The dimension shows that GRAND Espace is actually the shortest and lowest MPV here. However, the visual design shows it as a long MPV. I do this simple research as I feel my Grand Espace have better boot space compared to others but a little small for an adult at the rear; compared to the others as listed and now I know some of the reasons.
The short dimensions combined with lower roof and very slanting front windscreen add to this smallish feeling. The newer Grand Espace IV feels more cramped inside even compared to the Grand Espace III. Maybe the bigger size seats affect it.
Yes you are right, the newer Grand Espace IV feels more cramped inside even compared to the Grand Espace III. Infact i think the Grand Espace III has the same seating dimensions with the standard Espace 3, perhaps the only difference being the extra storage spave at the rear.
ReplyDeleteSalihin,
ReplyDeleteSpot on. The seating arrangement is the same as standard but you get more 270mm of rear boot space at the back. Which is very useful as most MPVs has tiny space at the back, which is impractical if you are transporting the whole family with its luggages.
Hi i plan to bring grand Espace iv back to malaysia am i going to have problem in term of maintenance and spare parts?
ReplyDeleteI have used 3 Renault cars,ie Renault 19 (my 1st). After used for 1-1/2 years, trade-in with the Laguna. And then, we bought the Grand Espace. Until to-date, we still using both the cars. Parts for Espace are no problems. But for the Laguna, we have to buy the kereta potong parts. Despite these headaches, we loves using both cars. Both are 10 times more comfortable than the Japanese cars. Just compare the Espace and the Estima and you definitely can feel the different.
ReplyDeleteIf plan to bring to Msia the Espace IV, make sure the models are the same (2.0lt petrol 16v turbo 170 bhp auto). Avoid diesel engine as TC Euro dont have any stocks. Special order will costs you nuclear bomb maybe.. hu hu. Dr.Faizal who brought back his Espace IV from UK told me not much problem of the parts. If TC Euro cannnot help, he go to Ebay UK for online purchase.
ReplyDeleteComfort is the Renault trump card, but strangely, the Espace IV is much firmer and it maybe improve handling, but ride comfort suffers and I personally dont like it. Due to our "pimples" road condition, the firmness did not help at all. Maybe road in Europe are superb, but they could design a better balanced suspension for a better ride comfort & improved handling.
Agree, Espace III is comfortable, but other makes are fast catching up and Espace III is not the best anymore in ride comfort and quietness. Hopefully, new upcoming models is much better.
some of the comment said it easy to get the spare part for this mpv. is it true?
ReplyDeletei think i want to buy it. the secondhand price for this mpv very cheap.
